SCOTTSDALE DESERT STAGES THEATRE

Annie Jr.
November 21st – December 21st
Leapin’ Lizards! It’s the pint-size version of the Broadway musical about the world’s most famous red-topped orphan! Designed especially for young audiences, this shortened version of the full-length musical “Annie” written by Thomas Meehan, with lyrics by Martin Charmin and music by Charles Strouse, retains the same lovable story and irrestible music that made this musical a staple of American culture. Set in Depression-era New York, Annie is a plucky re-head orphan who longs to be rescued from a hard-knock orphanage, run by the mean-spirited Miss Hannigan. Good fortune smiles on Annie when Daddy Warbucks invites our heroine home for the holidays. But will Miss Hannigan’s shenanigans spoil Annie’s new-found happiness?

Blithe Spirit
Through January 4th
One man, two wives and a psychic in a tangled web of spirits, séances and sophistry. A smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this ingenious plot tells how Novelist Charles Condomine invites an eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to his home in order to learn the language of the occult. Little does Charles or his lovely second wife, Ruth, dream that the séance staged by the medium will summon back Charles' first wife, Elvira, now "passed over" for seven years. Things take an unexpected turn and suddenly it's one man, two ghosts and a psychic. How Charles manages to extricate himself from these two very blithe spirits makes a hilarious conclusion to this very unusual farce.

Located at Scottsdale Desert Stages Theatre, 4720 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, at southwest corner of E. Highland Ave. and N. Scottsdale Rd. Call the box office at (480) 483-1664 or visit www.desertstages.com
